The hearing for this application closed in August 2018. The Special Tribunal members have nearly completed their recommendation to the Minister for the Environment and expect to deliver the final report in early March 2020. The report will be made publicly available.

At this stage we have been informed that the report is unlikely to be finished before the end of February 2019. We will provide more information as we receive it and expect to send out another update in March 2019.
A memorandum of counsel for Tasman District Council was received on 1 August seeking leave to file a short brief of evidence addressing the matters covered in recently filed information, particularly the proposed NO3-N limits. This evidence has been received:

The applicant has indicated the remaining information requested in Direction 6 will be provided on Wednesday 25 July 2018. The information will be uploaded to this website once it has been received. In the meantime, the hearing remains adjourned.
As required by Direction 6, the Applicant has provided the Special Tribunal with the Ngāti Tama ki Te Waipounamu Trust’s Environment Management Plan (although this has not yet been formally lodged with the three local councils – Nelson City Council, Tasman District Council, or Marlborough District Council). However, the Applicant and Tasman District Council have experienced delays in providing the other information requested by Direction 6 – they have indicated that it will be available Friday 20 July 2018.

The Tribunal have issued a direction regarding the adjournment of Te Waikoropupū Springs hearing in order to receive memorandum of Counsel on matters raised on days 11 and 12.
While further hearing days will not be required, the Special Tribunal has adjourned the hearing to receive a joint memorandum of counsel on a number of matters. A direction from the Special Tribunal covering this aspect will be issued shortly and will appear on this website.
Day 12 of the hearing will resume at 9:30 a.m, 28 June 2018.

The Special Tribunal has directed that the hearing for Te Waikoropupū Springs WCO will reconvene at 1:00 p.m, Wednesday 27 June, 2018. The hearing will be held at the Golden Bay Recreation Centre, 2032 Takaka Valley Highway, Takaka.
