Decision Date: 12 September 2018
Two moths have been approved for release into the New Zealand environment to combat the weed horehound.
The Horehound Biocontrol Group has been successful in its application to us to release two organisms new to New Zealand – the horehound plume moth and the horehound clearwing moth.
The decision was notified on 12 September 2018.
We called for public submissions on the application, and held a public hearing before a Decision-making Committee in Christchurch on 16 August 2018.
You can read the presentations made to the Decision-making Committee by the applicant, submitters, and us, and all documents relating to the application in our database.
