MBIE marine consent application for the Tui field

On 21 July 2021, the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) lodged consent applications under the Exclusive Economic Zone and Continental Shelf (Environmental Effects) Act 2012 (EEZ Act) for activities associated with decommissioning the Tui oil field.
The Minister for the Environment appointed a board of inquiry to consider and decide the marine consent application.

Minor corrections to decision report and marine consent
The board of inquiry granted, subject to conditions, marine consent and marine discharge consent to MBIE to carry out activities associated with decommissioning of the Tui oil field on 11 February 2022.
On 21 February 2021, the board made minor corrections to the decision report and the marine consent. Since then, a further correction was needed to be made to Condition 23 of the marine consent.
