Transfer Approvals and Gazette Notices

When the HSNO regime came into force, some substances had approvals from other regimes brought directly into the HSNO regime. These were performed using transfer approval, which were published in the New Zealand gazette.

Due to the complexity of the transfer, there were some aspects that had to be amended. The Environmental Risk Management Authority (the predecessor to the EPA) produced consolidated versions of the gazette notices to assist those who were using them.

The transfer notices are not particularly user-friendly for finding out the controls associated with the substance. You may wish to look up the substance in our databases instead.

It is a reference only and compiled from Gazette Notices made under the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996.
