Under the Climate Change Response Act 2002, companies or people can voluntarily cancel emission units. One of the reasons they may do this is to offset their emissions. This is unrelated to mandatory obligations under the Emissions Trading Scheme.
This table records voluntary unit cancellation information for those account holders who have opted to have their cancellation information published. The table provides a comment as to the purpose for each cancellation. It should be noted that the comments field is optional.
When there have been voluntary cancellations, these will be updated in the table on the last working day of each month.
