Download an interactive report showing information on emissions returns.
We'll be carrying out a small upgrade to our website today, Thursday 28 October at 5.30 pm. There will a short disruption during this time. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Participants in the ETS must collect and record information on their activities (either emissions or the carbon the activities remove from the atmosphere) and provide it to the EPA.
Non-forestry participants provide this information to us annually, by submitting an Annual Emissions Return, known as Emissions Reporting. An emissions return contains the data about the emissions produced by the participants activity for the previous calendar year.
Forestry participants provide their information at certain times to calculate changes in the carbon stock of their registered forest. These emissions returns range from the mandatory requirement to file once in every mandatory emissions return period, to voluntary emissions returns that participants can chose to complete annually.
We publish updated information on emissions returns annually.
