Discharge of harmful substances

Decision reports for discharge consents applied for under the Discharge and Dumping Regulations (2015).

Marine discharge consents are required by operators planning on discharging harmful substances in to the waters of the exclusive economic zone or waters above the continental shelf beyond the outer limits of the exclusive economic zone.

The decision reports for all marine consent applications made by oil and gas operators are covered in this section.

Where an operator has also applied for discharge consent separately from the marine consent application, the discharge consent will sit under the "Discharge of harmful substances" section and be linked to the marine consent in this section.

All other documents relating to the marine consent application, including decision maker correspondence, submissions (if any), evidence, and all documentation relating to the hearing (if held), are not available on this website.

These documents can be requested using the Official Information Act process.
