The expert consenting panel appointed Beca Limited, in accordance with clause 10(3) of Schedule 5 of the Act, to provide ecological advice regarding the status of the project site and whether it is a “natural wetland”.

On 30 March 2022, Beca Limited provided a supplementary report to their ecological advice.

The expert consenting panel appointed Sarah Shaw, in accordance with clause 10(3) of Schedule 5 of the Act, to provide legal advice on the relevance of the future state of the environment in determining a “natural wetland” and advice on the activity status of the proposal should the panel find the project site to be a “natural wetland”.

The expert consenting panel can request further information under clause 25(1) of Schedule 6 of the COVID-19 Recovery (Fast-track Consenting) Act 2020 (the Act) before it issues its final decision on the Rangitane maritime development resource consent application.
On 14 March 2022, the panel issued Minute 7 regarding the report on ecological advice provided by Beca Limited. On 21 March 2022, the applicant provided the following further information in response to Minute 7.
