At any time before the expert consenting panel issues its final decision on the Otawere water storage reservoir resource consent application, it can request further information under clause 25(1)(a) Schedule 6 of the Act.
The panel directed the EPA to request further information from the applicant and provide it to the EPA by 8 April 2022.
On 2 February 2022, Te Tai Tokerau Water Trust lodged an application for the construction of a water reservoir in Northland.
The reservoir will be formed by the construction of two earth embankment dams situated between rolling hills off Te Ahu Ahu Road, Waimate North. Water permits, discharge permits and land-use resource consents will be required.
On 9 February 2022, the EPA determined that the application complied with the requirements set out in clause 3, Schedule 6 of the Act, and can be provided to a panel to determine the application.
