On 29 September 2021, KiwiRail Holdings Limited lodged an application for resource consent and a notice of requirement for the development of two railway stations, at Drury and Paerata in south Auckland.
On 6 October 2021, the EPA determined that the application complied with the requirements set out in the COVID-19 Recovery (Fast-track Consenting) Act, and can be provided to a panel to determine the application.
