Decision
KiwiRail Holdings Limited plans to develop new railway stations Drury and Paerata on the North Island Main Trunk railway line. These would include rail platforms, buildings, park-and-ride and cycle parking facilities, and bus interchange and layover areas.
This application is known as a "referred project", which means the Minister for the Environment decided to refer this project to be considered by an expert consenting panel under the COVID-19 Recovery (Fast-track Consenting) Act 2020.
To do this, on 3 September 2021 Schedule 25 was inserted into the COVID-19 Recovery (Fast-track Consenting) Referred Projects Order 2020 (the “referral order”), by clause 4 of the COVID-19 Recovery (Fast-track Consenting) Referred Projects Amendment Order (No 9) 2021.
