This database holds hazard information for single chemicals, including the hazard classification, study summaries and physical properties of a substance.

You can search by substance name, CAS number or approval number. Note: If you search by CAS number you will not find all the dilutions of a substance or any mixtures such as 37% formaldehyde solution.

The CCID has been updated to incorporate Aotearoa New Zealand's adoption of the GHS system of hazard classification. Many substances have also had a change of approval status and are now covered by Group Standards instead of individual approvals. The classifications for substances under Group Standards are no longer legal classifications and are provided here for information purposes only.

All the substances previously on the CCID are still available.

If a substance has lost its individual approval you will no longer be able to search by that approval number.
