Cost recovery policy
The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) will recover actual and reasonable costs from the applicant that are incurred while the EPA is exercising its functions. This includes any costs in respect of secretarial and support services provided to a board of inquiry, and in respect of making recommendations to the Minister for the Environment on applications.
The EPA will also recover actual and reasonable costs incurred providing advice to potential applicants prior to a matter being lodged with the EPA. This cost recovery will be undertaken even if the matter is not subsequently lodged with the EPA.
