Limitations

  • The approval is limited to class 2.1.1A and 3.1 substances. The approval for class 5.2 substances is limited to handlers in control of Methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP). The approval does not include handlers in control of Agrichemicals as defined in the latest version of the NZS 8409, vertebrate toxic agents, fumigants and veterinary medicines.
  • The approval is limited to fillers charging cylinders with class 2.1.1A substances, oxygen and compressed air, including breathing air. The approval for fillers does not include acetylene. When charging Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), including Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus (SCUBA), the approval for fillers is limited to breathing air as set out in clause 3.13.1 AS/NZS 2299.1:2007.
  • The approval is limited to stationary container systems, including above ground and below ground tanks, which have previously been issued with a stationary container system test certificate [Hazardous Substances (Dangerous Goods and Scheduled Toxic Substances) Transfer Notice 2004, Schedule 8, clause 92(2)]; The approval for above ground tanks is limited to stationary container systems that contain classes 3.1, 5.1.1C or 8 substances up to maximum capacity of 20,000 L per tank used or intended to be used to contain a hazardous liquid; or 50,000 L per tank used or intended to be used to contain diesel fuel or low flashpoint diesel; The approval for below ground tanks is limited to stationary container systems that contain class 3.1 substances at vehicle and aircraft refuelling facilities up to a maximum capacity of 110,000 L; The approval does not include the design, construction or fabrication of stationary tanks [Hazardous Substances (Dangerous Goods and Scheduled Toxic Substances) Transfer Notice 2004 Schedule 8, clauses 92 and 94]; The approval does not include stationary container systems that include vaporisers [Hazardous Substances (Dangerous Goods and Scheduled Toxic Substances) Transfer Notice 2004 Schedule 8, clause 92(2)(e)]; The approval does not include stationary container systems used in connection with oil burning installations [Hazardous Substances (Dangerous Goods and Scheduled Toxic Substances) Transfer Notice 2004 Schedule 8, clause 92(2)(f)(g)]; The approval does not include stationary container systems that include wharf lines [Hazardous Substances (Dangerous Goods and Scheduled Toxic Substances) Transfer Notice 2004 Schedule 8, clause 92(2)(h)(iii)]; The approval does not include the repair, modification or relocation of an above ground stationary tank [Hazardous Substances (Dangerous Goods and Scheduled Toxic Substances) Transfer Notice 2004 Schedule 8, clause 92(2)(k); Part 18 clause 83].
  • The approval of locations where class 2.1.1 substances are present is limited to LPG cylinder facilities up to a maximum aggregate quantity of 1,000 kg. The approval of locations where class 3.1 substances are present is limited to: bulk storage at vehicle and aircraft refuelling facilities up to a maximum aggregate quantity of 220,000 L; storage in closed packages in one or more AS 1940 cabinets or up to 2,000 L stored externally or in a detached store. The approval of locations where class 5.1.1 substances are present is limited to storage in stationary tanks up to a maximum capacity of 25,000 L per tank. The approval of locations where class 5.1.2 substances are present is limited to cylinders in storage and in use up to a maximum of 1,500 cubic meters of gas.
