What is a genetically modified organism in New Zealand?

Genetically modified (GM) organisms are organisms whose genes or other genetic material have been modified by in vitro techniques.

In New Zealand, there are regulations stating which organisms are not regarded as GM organisms (click the link on the right of this page for further information about this).
