The first step to applying for any reassessment (full or modified) is applying for grounds. This means providing a good reason to review a substance that is already approved.
Grounds for reassessment may be established by demonstrating that there is significant new information regarding the effects of the substance, a significant change in the use or quantity of the substance, or the existence of alternative substances.
A Committee of the Authority must be satisfied that grounds exist before a reassessment can go ahead.

Who pays and how much will it cost?
The EPA pays for Chief Executive initiated reassessments. In all other cases, the person requesting the application pays. However, the Authority may agree to waive part of these charges if it is considered that there is public interest in carrying out the reassessment. You will need to discuss the fees with us before proceeding.
