Monitoring and reporting
Page Content
Every year we monitor and report on the effectiveness of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms (HSNO) Act, as well as reporting information we collect in our administration of the New Zealand Emissions Trading Scheme (NZ ETS).
We compile and report data on incidents involving hazardous substances and new organisms. The HSNO Act allows us to conduct inquiries into any incident. We also monitor and report annually on the HSNO Act's effectiveness, on the aerial use of the vertebrate poison 1080, and on methyl bromide fumigations.
Each year we also report on the Emissions Trading Scheme. The Climate Change Response Act 2002 requires us to report on the emissions and removal activities which are covered by NZETS.
