Methyl bromide reassessment

In November 2010, we completed an extensive review of the use of the fumigant methyl bromide. This review allowed the continued use of methyl bromide for quarantine and pre-shipment purposes, with strict conditions on it use.

In April 2011, we published a guidance document (see below) for fumigators, providing information on air quality monitoring and tolerable exposure limits, buffer zones, notification and annual reporting.

The review also requires site managers to submit an annual report on air quality monitoring. A template is provided below to help do this.

The first report will cover the period from May 2011 (when the new conditions came into effect) to December 2011, and is to be provided to us by 30 June 2012.

These reports will be posted here as they come to hand.
