NZ King Salmon's proposal

NZ King Salmon’s proposal to farm salmon at nine sites in the Marlborough sounds consists of the following matters:

1.    A plan change request to the Marlborough Sounds Resource Management Plan to rezone eight specific areas for salmon farming (the “main plan change request”).

2.    An ancillary plan change request that addresses the method of allocation of the right to apply for coastal space for marine farming in the Marlborough Sounds.

3.    Eight concurrent applications for resource consents to allow salmon farming on the eight sites that the main plan change request relates to.

4.    An application for resource consent(s) to allow salmon farming at a site at White Horse Rock, Pelorus Sound, on a site that is zoned Coastal Marine Zone 2 and therefore does not require a plan change in order for resource consent to be applied for.
