EPA customer survey 2012
The EPA is currently surveying around 4,500 people who have done business with the organisation in the past year, asking them about their satisfaction with the information and services they have received.
We will use this information to identify areas where we can make improvements to our service and processes, and also for reporting purposes.
We expect to get preliminary results of the survey in July, and will publish a summary in The Bulletin when complete.
We would like to thank customers for their participation in the survey.
For further information on the survey, please contact Planning, Reporting and Communications Manager Lesley Meadows.

Call for information on antifouling paints
The EPA is reassessing all biocides used as active ingredients in antifouling paints that are imported, manufactured and used in New Zealand.
To prepare the formal reassessment application, we have carried out a preliminary assessment of the risks and benefits of using antifouling paints, as well as possible risk management options.
We are now seeking feedback on these assessments. Any information we receive about specific benefits of using antifouling paints, the practicality of the options to manage risks and any gaps in our data, will be considered in the final decision.
Any additional information that could help us to refine our preliminary risk assessment is also sought at this stage.
The final decision will be made by an independent decision-making committee of the EPA.
The deadline for providing your feedback to us is Friday 20 July 2012.

Feedback sought on insecticides
The EPA has released a series of preliminary sector assessments for feedback as part of the reassessment of organophosphate and carbamate insecticides.
Organophosphate and carbamate insecticides are used on a variety of agricultural and horticultural crops in New Zealand.
In preparation for the formal reassessment, we have drafted preliminary sector assessments containing information on the sector's use of organophosphates and carbamates, a preliminary assessment of the risks and possible options for managing them.
These assessments are not complete. Where there are gaps in our data, we need industry to provide information to help us fully understand the current situation.
The information you provide us on actual use patterns, alternative risk assessments or benefits of the substance to your sector, will inform the final decision.
Feedback is due by 31 July 2012.
